Impact VT is a tool funded by the YIT grant to help Vermont youth connect with resources in the community. Resource listings on this site are sorted by category and include basic descriptions and information about how to contact providers.
YIT is an acronym for Youth in Transition, a fancy phrase for anyone between the ages of 16 and 22 years old, the years of transitioning from childhood to adulthood. The grant helps young adults become more prepared, self-sufficient, successful adults by helping them navigate this often difficult and uncertain transition.
YIT offers support with things such as building a resume, finding and keeping a job, stabilizing housing, enrolling in health care coverage, finding a doctor or counselor, enrolling in life and job skills training, applying for 3 Squares (food stamps) or SSI benefits, managing or overcoming substance use, enrolling in high school completion or GED courses, applying to college and for financial aid, getting matched with a mentor, developing independence, and getting linked with additional community supports and services.
